Some Punk & Grunge Figures

Lemmy Kilmister ~ The legendary frontman and bassist for Motorhead from the mid 1970's onward died of cancer four days after his 70th birthday (Dec.24) and just two days after he learned his cancer was terminal. He had previously announced that he had cancer earlier this year and did a farewell tour although some shows had to be cancelled. Motorhead's drummer Phil Taylor had died two months earlier.
Motorhead were known as one of the loudest and fastest bands of the punk era and were one of the godfathers of Thrash and Speed Metal although Lemmy always insisted that Motorhead were a straight forward Rock and Roll band and that he was a fan of the Beatles, Stones, Who and Eddie Cochran. Lemmy started out in the 1960's as a roadie and in bands like The Rockin' Vickers, Sam Opal, Hawkwind and Bastard before forming Motorhead in 1976.
Besides Motorhead Lemmy also recorded with Robert Calvert, Ozzy Osbourne, The Damned, Ice T, Girlschool, Wendy O Williams, Ugly Kid Joe, Jetboy as well as his own Rockabilly band Headcat since 2006.
